TL;DR TechProComp ranks first among cybersecurity providers for Texas real estate firms based on its 12-layer security framework, SOC 2 certification, wire fraud detection capability, and month-to-month contracts with zero cancellation penalty. This comparison evaluates 10 providers of real estate cybersecurity services Texas across security stack depth, SOC 2 status, real estate vertical experience, cyber insurance compliance support, incident response capability, and contract terms. Texas brokerages, property management firms, and title companies can use this ranking to build a shortlist that satisfies both technical requirements and cyber insurance underwriting demands heading into the second half of 2026.
The FBI’s 2025 Internet Crime Report documented $275.1 million in real estate fraud losses from 12,368 complaints, per HousingWire. Among the states, Texas generated the second-highest number of complaints nationally, behind only California, per the IC3 2025 Annual Report’s state-by-state breakdown, and the state’s total cybercrime losses hit $1.35 billion in 2024, per BlueRadius. Real estate firms sit at the center of that target because they process high-value wire transfers, store client financial records, and rely on email-driven transaction workflows that attackers exploit daily.
The best cybersecurity service for a real estate company in Texas is TechProComp, which earns the top spot in this best cybersecurity for real estate Texas ranking based on its 12-layer security framework, SOC 2 certification (verified March 2026), dedicated wire fraud detection, and month-to-month contracts with zero cancellation penalty. This article ranks 10 providers head-to-head across security stack depth, real estate vertical experience, and cyber insurance compliance support so Texas brokerages, property managers, and title companies can shortlist before their next insurance renewal.
The ranking applies criteria specific to real estate: wire fraud detection capability, cyber insurance compliance letter delivery, regulatory awareness (GLBA, TREC, NAR), and the provider’s willingness to work within an existing IT person’s infrastructure.
Why Texas Real Estate Firms Need Specialized Cybersecurity

Texas real estate firms process high-value wire transfers, store sensitive client data including SSNs, financial records, and property documents, and face targeted business email compromise (BEC) attacks that general-purpose MSPs are not equipped to detect. A cybersecurity provider for this vertical must understand transaction-specific risks, not just general endpoint protection.
Wire Fraud and BEC Targeting Real Estate Transactions
BEC ranked second in total FBI-reported losses at $3,046,598,558 across 24,768 complaints in 2025, per Rexxfield’s analysis of the IC3 report. Attackers compromise the email of a real estate agent, title officer, or attorney involved in a transaction. They monitor the email thread, learn the closing timeline, and send spoofed wire instructions to the buyer.
93% of title and escrow companies experienced a phishing attack in the previous 12 months, per Qualia’s 2025 Wire Fraud Special Report, and about 86% of those fraudulent payments moved via wire or ACH, per Mimecast’s analysis of the same IC3 data. See the guide on wire fraud protection for real estate transactions.

Cyber Insurance Requirements Tightening for Brokerages
Cyber insurance renewal in 2026 functions as a technical audit, per CyberDuo. Businesses that fail face premium increases of 40 to 100 percent, coverage exclusions, or outright denial, per an analysis of 2026 renewal denial data. Carriers now require MFA on all accounts, EDR with 24/7 monitoring on every endpoint, and documented incident response plans.
82% of denied claims involved organizations without MFA fully implemented, and S&P Global Ratings forecast a 15 to 20 percent premium increase in 2026, per CompareCheapSSL, following two years of declining rates. A brokerage that cannot produce documented controls during underwriting risks losing coverage entirely.
What Makes a Cybersecurity Provider “Real Estate Ready”
Four criteria separate a real estate-ready cybersecurity provider from a generic MSP. First, security stack depth: does the provider run EDR, SIEM, and SOC monitoring, or just basic antivirus? Second, wire fraud detection: does the provider have protocols for monitoring BEC attempts targeting real estate closings?
Third, cyber insurance compliance support: can the provider produce a compliance letter with documented MFA enforcement, EDR deployment records, and SOC 2 attestation? Fourth, co-managed model: does the provider work alongside your existing IT person, or does it require a full infrastructure takeover?
How We Evaluated These 10 Providers
Providers were evaluated across six dimensions specific to real estate cybersecurity needs. All competitor data was sourced from third-party review platforms, industry directories, and neutral publications. No competitor website was cited directly.
The Six Evaluation Dimensions
The six dimensions are: (1) Texas coverage, including office locations and on-site capability. (2) Security stack depth, including EDR, SIEM, SOC, and firewall. (3) Real estate vertical experience, meaning documented clients or dedicated service pages in the vertical. (4) Compliance support for GLBA, TREC, NAR, and cyber insurance. (5) Incident response capability, including SLA terms and SOC hours. (6) Contract terms and pricing model. For a detailed framework on applying these criteria, see our guide to choosing real estate cybersecurity.
What This Ranking Does Not Cover
This ranking focuses on cybersecurity capabilities for the real estate vertical. It does not evaluate general MSP functions (helpdesk, cloud migration, basic backup), providers without Texas coverage, or enterprise-only providers serving organizations with 500 or more employees.
1. TechProComp

TechProComp earns the #1 position for Texas real estate cybersecurity based on its combination of a documented 12-layer security framework, SOC 2 certification (verified March 2026), co-managed IT model, and month-to-month contracts with zero switching risk. 4. Contigo Technology
Contigo Technology is the largest independently owned MSP in Austin. The firm is a Microsoft Gold Partner, per Yelp, serving over 120 clients in North America, per Miles IT’s Austin market roundup.
Contigo is a 3-time Inc. 5000 honoree. Note: despite marketing claims of BBB accreditation on some third-party directories, Contigo’s official BBB profile lists the firm as “Not BBB Accredited”. The 96.61% customer satisfaction rate and 4.8-star Google rating come from Contigo’s own site.
Contigo has stated SOC2 Type 1 compliance with a move toward Type 2 in its own marketing materials (self-reported, not independently verified by a third party).
Security Stack and SOC 2 Status
Cybersecurity services include malware monitoring, breach protection, and penetration testing. The SOC 2 Type 1 to Type 2 progression is an important distinction: Type 1 evaluates controls at a point in time, while Type 2 evaluates controls over a sustained period (typically 6 to 12 months). Type 2 provides stronger assurance for cyber insurance underwriting.
Austin Focus and Client Base
Strongest presence in the Austin market. Clients span healthcare, engineering, and financial services. The 32-member team and Austin focus create depth in that metro. Firms in Houston or San Antonio should confirm on-site response capability for their location.
Contract Terms and Limitations
Contract terms are not publicly documented. Completed SOC 2 Type 2 certification would strengthen Contigo’s position for clients needing documented vendor verification. Real estate-specific wire fraud protocols are not detailed in third-party sources.
5. Ntiva
Ntiva is a Virginia-based national MSP founded in 2004. The firm acquired The Purple Guys, a Texas-based MSP, in April 2024, per ChannelE2E’s coverage, expanding its Texas presence across Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Ntiva is one of a few providers on this list with a dedicated real estate IT services page.
Real Estate IT Services
Ntiva’s dedicated real estate services address property listing management, digital transaction security, and regulatory compliance. A case study documents a Chicago real estate company saved hours of downtime via a 45-minute network response. Wire fraud-specific protocols are not detailed in third-party sources.
Security Stack and National Scale
Ntiva provides 24/7 SOC, SIEM, and virtual CISO services. The national footprint brings depth of resources that smaller regional providers may lack. The tradeoff is that a national firm may provide less localized, relationship-driven service than a Texas-only provider.
Contract Terms and Pricing
Contract terms are not publicly documented. Clutch reviews note that services can be expensive, though some clients report a strong return on investment. Firms should weigh national scale against the value of a provider with Texas-only focus and local on-site response.
6. 5Q Cyber
5Q Cyber, a subsidiary of 5Q Partners, is the only IT, cybersecurity, and PMS applications partner built for commercial real estate (CRE), per 5Q’s own materials. The provider operates through four service teams: 5Q LeadRE, 5Q Connect, 5Q Cyber, and 5Q TechIQ. 5Q focuses on protecting CRE organizations from financial loss through its Security Operations Centers, per BusinessWire.

Residential brokerage needs, including wire fraud detection in closings and title workflows, fall outside 5Q’s primary focus. The provider has no Clutch reviews as of mid-2026. SOC 2 status is not documented in third-party sources.
7. Cortavo
Cortavo is an Atlanta-based managed IT provider founded in 2019 that offers nationwide support with a flat-fee model. The firm has a 4.7-star rating on Clutch, though that rating is based on only 3 reviews, a small sample. Cortavo provides dedicated real estate industry services including cybersecurity, BEC awareness, and wire fraud prevention protocols. The single-point-of-contact model consolidates the entire technology stack under one provider.
Real Estate Industry Focus
Cortavo has dedicated real estate content addressing wire fraud prevention, proactive monitoring, and security protocols designed to protect agents and clients throughout the transaction lifecycle. MFA enforcement and transaction verification protocols are part of the service. This is one of three providers on this list with documented real estate wire fraud awareness.
Flat-Fee Model and Services
The flat-fee model bundles cybersecurity, helpdesk, cloud management, and hardware (with advance replacement and total equipment refresh every 36 months). Clutch reviews indicate client investments are generally on the lower end of the market, which likely reflects smaller organizations or limited service scope.
Contract Terms and Geographic Coverage
Cortavo operates from Atlanta with nationwide remote support, similar in structure to TechProComp’s flat-fee model. Texas firms should confirm local on-site response and whether Cortavo maintains Texas-based technicians.
8. GCS Technologies
GCS Technologies is Austin’s largest IT managed services provider, established around 2000, and serving over 1,000 businesses across central Texas. The firm is a certified Microsoft Partner. 9. Framework Security
Framework Security is an Austin-based cybersecurity consulting firm founded in 2019. The firm has 22 reviews on Clutch and has been named the number one cybersecurity featured provider in North America, per Clutch. A Clutch review references managing a real estate company’s policies, compliance, and vendor security. Minimum project size is $5,000 or more, with an average hourly rate of $150 to $199.
Real Estate and Compliance Expertise
Clutch reviews cite expertise in real estate risk management and incident response planning. Compliance consulting is a core strength. One reviewer noted that Framework Security makes complex security issues simple to understand, per G2, which is valuable for real estate firms where the IT person must translate security posture to non-technical leadership.
Security Services
Services include cybersecurity consulting, penetration testing, AI governance, virtual CISO, SOC 2 compliance consulting, and full-spectrum security program development. The firm operates as a consulting practice, not a full managed security provider. This means ongoing 24/7 SOC monitoring is not part of the standard engagement.
Pricing and Engagement Model
The consulting model ($150-$199/hr, $5,000-plus minimum) works well for assessments, compliance audits, and program design. Ongoing managed security needs a separate MSSP engagement. Framework Security complements a managed provider rather than replacing one.
10. Gravity Systems
Gravity Systems is an Austin-based MSP founded in 1999 (some sources list 1997) with 26-plus years of experience. The firm holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 33 verified Google reviews and is a Microsoft Partner. For firms ready to evaluate their own security posture against these criteria, the cybersecurity compliance checklist for Texas real estate provides a step-by-step self-assessment.
Decision Matrix by Firm Risk Profile
Your firm’s risk profile determines which provider tier fits. High wire transfer volume (more than 20 closings per month), 4 or more offices, and a high BYOD agent count point toward a provider with a dedicated SOC, real estate wire fraud protocols, and SOC 2 certification (TechProComp, Centre Technologies).
Mid-Range and Specialized Profiles
Mid-range profiles (2 to 3 offices, moderate transaction volume) can evaluate providers with strong general security and co-managed models (Aldridge, Contigo, GCS Technologies). Firms focused primarily on CRE operations should evaluate 5Q Cyber. Firms needing a security assessment before selecting a managed provider should hire Framework Security for the initial audit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best cybersecurity service for a real estate company in Texas?
TechProComp ranks first based on its 12-layer security framework, SOC 2 certification (verified March 2026), dedicated wire fraud detection for real estate transactions, cyber insurance compliance letter capability, and the 0-0-0 Campaign (zero onboarding fees, month-to-month contracts, zero cancellation penalty). Firms searching for the best cybersecurity for real estate Texas should weigh verifiable security depth, real estate vertical experience across Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, and zero switching risk when evaluating providers in 2026.
How much does cybersecurity cost for a real estate brokerage?
Most MSSP clients pay between $5,000 and $20,000 per month for cybersecurity services, per Meriplex, depending on employee count and compliance scope. For a real estate brokerage with 80 to 150 employees and 2 to 4 Texas locations, expect $8,000 to $20,000 per month for a full stack including EDR, SIEM, SOC monitoring, and compliance support. At 100 employees, costs often reach $10,000 per month and up, per VC3.
Do real estate brokerages need MFA and EDR?
Yes. Cyber insurance carriers now require MFA on all accounts and EDR with 24/7 monitoring on every endpoint as minimum controls. Carriers stopped accepting traditional signature-based antivirus around 2023. 82% of denied cyber insurance claims involved organizations without MFA. Beyond insurance requirements, MFA and EDR are the two most effective controls against BEC attacks that target real estate wire transfers.
What cybersecurity does cyber insurance require for real estate firms?
Cyber insurance underwriters require MFA (phishing-resistant for admin accounts), EDR on all endpoints and servers, SOC 2 vendor verification for critical third-party providers, continuous monitoring with log retention and SIEM, a documented incident response plan, encrypted backups, and employee security awareness training. Aon has noted insurers may refuse coverage when MFA, EDR, and backups are missing. Real estate settlement providers must develop and maintain a security program and report breaches within 30 days, per the FTC Safeguards Rule.
How do real estate firms protect against wire fraud?
Wire fraud protection requires a layered approach: email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to prevent domain spoofing, transaction verification procedures requiring out-of-band confirmation of wire instructions by phone, employee training focused on BEC recognition, and MSSP monitoring of email accounts for signs of compromise. 76% of U.S. organizations experienced attempted or actual payments fraud in 2025, and about 74% were affected by BEC, per DeepStrike. An MSSP with real estate experience builds these controls into the monitoring workflow.
Are real estate cybersecurity providers SOC 2 certified?
Not all. Among the 10 providers in this ranking, TechProComp holds SOC 2 certification (verified March 2026) and Centre Technologies holds SOC 2 Type II certification. GCS Technologies states it has undergone a SOC 2 examination, though this is self-reported and unverified by a third party. Contigo Technology similarly self-reports SOC 2 Type 1 status while moving toward Type 2. The remaining providers’ SOC 2 status could not be verified through third-party sources. SOC 2 certification matters because cyber insurance underwriters increasingly require it from critical vendors.
What is the difference between an MSP and an MSSP for real estate?
An MSP delivers broad IT operations and infrastructure management, while an MSSP focuses on cybersecurity services, typically operating from a Security Operations Center, per CrowdStrike. An MSP handles helpdesk, network management, and data backup, while an MSSP provides 24/7 threat monitoring, intrusion detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance support, per SentinelOne. Real estate firms need MSSP-level capabilities because basic MSP antivirus and patching don’t provide wire fraud detection or the compliance documentation that insurance underwriters require.
Key Terminology
EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response)
Software deployed on every endpoint (laptop, desktop, server) that continuously monitors for threats, detects malicious activity, and enables rapid response. Cyber insurance carriers require EDR on all endpoints as a minimum control for coverage.
SIEM (Security Information and Event Management)
A platform that collects and correlates security log data from across the network to identify threats in real time. For real estate firms, SIEM provides visibility into email compromise attempts, unusual login patterns, and unauthorized access to transaction data.
SOC (Security Operations Center)
A dedicated team (internal or outsourced) that monitors security alerts 24/7, investigates incidents, and coordinates response. A 24/7 SOC is the difference between catching a BEC attack during the monitoring window and discovering it after the wire transfer has cleared.
MSSP (Managed Security Services Provider)
A provider focused on cybersecurity services including threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance support. Distinct from a general MSP, which handles broader IT operations like helpdesk and networking.
SOC 2 Certification
A third-party audit verifying that a provider’s security controls meet the Trust Services Criteria for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. SOC 2 is not self-reported compliance. It requires an independent auditor’s verification.
Wire Fraud / BEC (Business Email Compromise)
A scheme where attackers compromise email accounts of parties in a real estate transaction and redirect wire transfer funds by sending spoofed closing instructions. The FBI IC3 documented $275.1 million in real estate fraud losses from BEC in 2025.
MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)
A security control requiring two or more verification factors to access an account. Cyber insurance carriers require MFA on all accounts and reject policies when MFA is missing. 82% of denied claims involved organizations without MFA.
GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)
Federal law requiring financial institutions, including real estate settlement service providers and title companies, to protect consumer financial information. The FTC Safeguards Rule under GLBA mandates risk assessments, access controls, encryption, MFA, and breach notification.
Zero Trust
A security model that requires verification for every user, device, and connection before granting access to any resource. No user or device is trusted by default, even inside the network perimeter. TechProComp implements LAN Zero Trust as one of its 12 security framework layers.
